One of the best decisions I've made during the pandemic is to take this course. Given the extra amount that I have spent at home during lockdown, I have reflected on the career path I am currently on, the career goal that I push my self to achieve and the gap between the two. Taking Leah's course has helped me realise that the career I dream of isn't too far from where I currently am during this pandemic. All I needed was the right strategies - which she discussed in the course so well. Thank you for this heaven-sent course, Leah!
ELA B.
The journey of exploring what 'retirement' might look like was supportive, challenging and at times even exhilarating. Leah Shmerling is a wonderful coach and combined with the 6-hour online course I now find myself so much clearer, better equipped and enthusiastic about what retirement holds and the steps I will take.

Many sections of the modules (of the Retirement Planning session) were very good in allowing focus on the realities of the decision to retire. Online course allowed me to progress at my own rate when I had the time to focus and think about the questions being asked and the consequences of the decision to retire.

Prior to undertaking the Introduction to Career Counselling and Coaching course I was unsure if Career Counselling/coaching was something I would be interested in pursuing. However, when I was about a quarter of the way through I began to understand the different areas of the role and realised that this career path was something I would be passionate about. I was inspired and motivated to continue learning and understanding more. The course not only provided me with the foundations but allowed me to understand how I could use my prior teaching skills and experience to really help and guide individuals in understanding the best career path for them. The course was insightful, easy to understand and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The actual website was easy to follow and navigate making too.

The Foundations in Career Practice course will provide you with the tools to be a successful career coach or counselor, whether it's your first time taking this type of education. The ten (10) modules are made up of small sessions and build on each other so that by completing them all students can build an impressive portfolio for themselves as well learn new skills such as being able to work independently without supervision or opening their own career coaching practice. This course is not all theory, there are lots of opportunities for putting what is learned into practice. I found the course easy to understand and easy to do and it will be a great course for anyone working with unemployed people, students or people wanting a career change.

Foundation in Career Counselling and Coaching Practices... I see this course content as very useful to the work I do as a counsellor and coach, and I found that it aligns well with my person-centred, solution-focused approach. I found the course materials to be well explained, clear and logical. I particularly liked the clarity of the approach required in coaching, namely that the process is collaborative and that the focus is on the client's identified goals and wishes.
I would recommend this course to others who wish to work in the field of career coaching and counsellingÂ

I completed the online course "Foundation in Career Development" written by Leah Shmerling from Career Coaching Training. I found the course to be excellent. The overview of the range of theories underpinning the process of pursuing career pathways was comprehensive, succinct, and extremely well presented. The various online assignments and career assessment tools were invaluable in assisting the process of both understanding individual strengths and priorities as well as exploring the various pathways and career opportunities available.Â
I thoroughly enjoyed completing the course, it was an extremely useful and relevant professional development program and it was invaluable in helping in my future career pathways. I highly recommend this course for anyone exploring their future and their career trajectory. Â

Just letting you know that I have reviewed the Foundation in Career Development Practice course that you sent me. I found this easy to access and navigate and the formatting I believe suited the online nature of the program. The information was presented in a clear manner and I liked the combination of Visuals, links, and videos to support the topics which were being presented. The activities for each topic brought them to life and gave the participant an opportunity to relate the material back to their own lived experience which is crucial for a topic of this nature. I think modules such as this will make the learning experience for your students very positive as they work their way through them.
Good luck with it and well done!
