The coaching sessions will focus your effort on ‘what’ your new career path will look like and support you to make an informed decision. We implement strategies with an action plan on ‘What steps you need to take’. Clear steps and time frames are put into place to build your confidence, motivation, and momentum. We don’t stop there. We will review your progress and fine tune it with additional steps to further support you to reach your goal.

Life usually does not follow the path that we expect. There will be times when you need to repivot due to circumstances. These can be personal (such as family commitments or ill health that affects you or a family member), or professional (such as a lack of job opportunities, or retrenchment, or even a situation where your current role may not allow you to utilise your best skills). These are all valid reasons to explore alternate career paths.

Working in partnership with your career counsellor or coach, you will identify the issues, plan your solution, explore and weigh up your career options, and finally, transition to an opportunity that is right for you.

Self-marketing skills help your professional profile and job application stand out. It’s importance cannot be understated and it they should be inline with your career goals. Build a strategy for your job search and showcase your qualifications, strengths, and experience to employers. Highlight your attributes with specific examples. Learn to network in the industry so that you are recognised and be thought of when opportunities arise in other companies. We will help you to develop an elevator pitch to explain what you do and make an impact.

A lack of motivation can be the biggest obstacle to reaching your career goals. Ambition alone without supporting action is not enough! Career counselling/coaching will support you and help you to understand the mindset that prevents you from achieving your career objectives. Consider the ‘why’ for the lack of motivation – is it the problem, or a symptom of a bigger problem? We will collaborate with you to address the issues that prevent you from making good progress, and re-frame your self-talk as a stimulus for action.

Most of us are not able to clearly see the issues and barriers that are hindering our career advancement. A career coach will help you to review the reasons, teach you how to seek useful feedback from managers, and work with you to strengthen your weak areas and develop your skills and attributes to come back stronger and more successful.
