PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

“Mentoring aims to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be.”

Eric Parsloe, The Oxford School of Coaching & Mentoring
Mentoring and development training

One of the greatest values of mentors is the ability to see ahead what others cannot see and to help them navigate a course to their destination.

John C. Maxwell
Author, and speaker on leadership

A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.

Bob Proctor
Motivational speaker, coach, author

The Mentoring Relationship

The mentoring relationship is not a modern fad. Historically, individuals learned through older members who passed their knowledge and insight whilst in the workplace. Patiently, the mentor provided the time and energy to serve as the teacher and overseer of the mentee.

Modern mentorship programs transfer business knowledge and skills. Employees engage with each other and a pipeline of future leaders who understand the skills and attitudes required to succeed within the company are developed.

Organisational mentoring culture is a valuable human resource tool for workforce planning and development, for spreading knowledge and best practices throughout the organisation.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING ONLINE COURSES

In addition, it develops higher-level knowledge and skills to unlock your potential for improved work performance. Career Coaching and Training supports your career development. Mentoring is about building a relationship between the mentor and the mentee over time through communication and mutual understanding.

The online mentoring and development modules will support you to attain your career goals by overcoming barriers. Plus you will have effective strategies that you can use in daily life.

Mentoring and Succession Planning in the Workplace

Mentoring and Succession Planning in the Workplace

As experienced workers leave their jobs they take with them their valuable knowledge and skills. Skills that they have built up over a lifetime of employment and unfortunately a gap will occur in the workforce. To your detriment, this will have a profound bearing on your workforce. Because with fewer working people with the necessary skills, then the continuity of your organisational wisdom and competence is threatened.

Feedback is the breakfast of champions

Feedback is a gift to let your staff know what they are doing well, and where they can improve. Above all, when a person deserves constructive feedback and you remain silent, a mistake will be repeated.

Mentoring and training: What is the difference?

2 women

Training and mentoring are used as a professional and personal development tool. The main difference between training and mentoring is the nature of the relationship between the parties, and the approach of each. Training is used to impart knowledge and skills via a set program. However, mentoring is both supportive and developmental. The mentee brings their thoughts, challenges and questions to obtain guidance from the mentor and subsequently for them to reach their goals.

I was lucky enough to have the course facilitator as my TAE trainer.  With a blended delivery of on-line content and weekly Skype one-on-one sessions, I found this learning experience to be one of the best of my adult life.  She set me challenges and workplace assignments that made the learning very relevant and effective.  Her various training techniques were both stimulating and innovative, which was extremely advantageous as I was able to use these same techniques with my Trainees.

Jack L. Harris

Prof Emeritus

With Leah’s enthusiastic approach I was motivated to examine much more than the basic requirements of the course. Her depth of knowledge in this arena not only surprised me but empowered me to pursue all aspects of it to ensure I had a really good understanding of what it entailed. Leah had presented the course in a professional yet warm and personal way and which allowed her students to become closely acquainted with the subject. Her passion for helping others is highly evident and via this avenue she is able to encourage others to be the change they want to see in themselves and in the world around them.

Richard Fowler

Student, Foundations in Career Development Practice

I have been able to demonstrate many of the elements of the course immediately, and see the results in provoking the right conversations, as well as providing areas of focus that aid in alleviating tensions, and pointing toward solutions. Leah has pitched the course to comprehensively cover pertinent topics with her own flair, in a manner befitting high quality professional development. I would recommend it wherever applicable.
