Engaging with Students in Online Learning
BACKGROUND
Teaching online is different from teaching face-to-face in the classroom. It requires a student-centred approach understanding student needs, goals, and interests as you present engaging content and interactive activities. Students participate and apply their knowledge into practice rather than listen and take notes.
Effective learning occurs when students are engaged and share their learning experience in a learning community that is meaningful for their career and beyond.
COURSE CONCEPT
To facilitate your teaching/training sessions, you will need to understand your students, and their motivation for attending the program. Focus on building engagement during the session — content is important, but more so is the student engagement with their learning. Use a range of training methodologies and communication strategists to support your presentation. Create a comfortable, safe environment with inclusive practices that are open for students to participate in that creates an enriching learning community.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT POINTS
The time spent on each course of study may be claimed as continuing professional development (CPD) by the Institute of Learning and Performance Asia Pacific requirements.
CERTIFICATE
Upon successfully finishing the complete course, students will receive a Certificate of Professional Development accredited by the Institute of Learning and Performance Asia Pacific.
Students can also receive a Certificate of Professional Development for each course they complete accredited by the Institute of Learning and Performance Asia Pacific.
